He then said something about the sifu paying the 150$ monthly to be part of that organization and that id have a 2 hours private class. He also talked about a free cruise. Obviously the free cruise in question is just like Primerica: you go on the cruise to, say the Bahamas. Once there you have to assist seminars on personnal development and stuff.

He never named the organization but it was just plain obvious. I also politely declined the offer.
This is exactly what I figured would happen - the school owners and head instructors are pressuring the students to join this organization so their status on the ladder goes up.

Same thing I was thinking. I guess developing/getting involved in a pyramid scheme was the next logical step in Patenaudes money making ideas once his schools stopped growing. Wouldn't surprise me if singing up for this new crap became mandatory for getting your black belt.

CUT and Paste the Above Link- Don't ask me why.

I like the way seajoke is introduced in this announcement. Must burn his ass being a lowly Level 5 candidate, otherwise know as a Level 4 dweeb at the GIN. Only 8 more levels to the top jocko!

Hey Old1o1!! Good to hear from you. Your mailbox is full as I tried to PM you a while back and couldn't (due to the full email box).

What I find concerning here (beyond coercing students to join) is the quasi - spiritual, almost 'occult' nature of this GIN program. I don't want to be too dramatic but it does seem to have these overtones. I'll try to do some more research here. But beyond the financial obligations what are the students being drawn into?
