I just found this info concerning an MMA event that took place earlier this year. http://topmmanews.com/2011/03/05/hyb...quick-results/
Here are some of the comments concerning the FSD supporters:
"Dear Kung Fu gym: YOU. LOOK. LIKE. FUCKING. COCKSUCKERS. WHEN. YOU. BOO. FIGHTERS. ****. YOU."
"Harry balls you are totally right.. I had 3 fighters on the card and every fight they were hanging over the rails booing in my fighters faces it took alot of composure not to push them out of there face. These guys were extremely disrespectful. Hopefully their fans show a little more class at the next show or they shouldn’t b allowed back."
"Agree with Harry Balls. Guys at Patenaude Kung Fu should be embarassed that jerkoffs like that are representing them. If their goal is to make themselves look like a bunch of douchbags, then great job. Other than that, best Hybrid show so far."Last edited by andrewa; 11/24/2011 12:51pm at . Reason: missing word

As I recall from the previous discussions on the kali issue, they (Jacques Patenaude and family) did ONE seminar with Dan Inosanto back in the 80's and got the rest from some of the old Panther videos of (I think) Paul Vunak. The guy who started this thread (Ghyslain) said that when he bought a book about stickfighting he discovered that Jacques Patenaude didn't even know what the 12 angles were. I've never done kali but from what I understood this (the 12 angles) was one of the very basic skills.
I don't doubt that over the years the sons and instructors have gotten much better and may even be very good but without any lineage/certification there's no standard to measure their skills by. -

Well at the beginning of the class, during the pao fan sao (spelling?) an instructor came to talk to me and not even 30 seconds later he asked if having my own kung-fu school was something that interested me. I politely declined, saying that I dont see myself doing that. He then proceeded to ridiculize my career path and left.
At the end of the class, one of the head instructor asked me to stay. There was a cd on his desk with "POWER OF GIN" written on it. He then started to talk about instructors being in a personnal development organization and that the sifu needed 2 more people to join so he could go up in rank. He then said something about the sifu paying the 150$ monthly to be part of that organization and that id have a 2 hours private class. He also talked about a free cruise. Obviously the free cruise in question is just like Primerica: you go on the cruise to, say the Bahamas. Once there you have to assist seminars on personnal development and stuff.
He never named the organization but it was just plain obvious. I also politely declined the offer.
