I wasn't really trying to troll you, Matt. Ok I kinda was.
My clinchwork and sweeps are second only to my preference for counterpunching!
Next, someone should start a thread bashing FCR rules KB. Then I can nutride that. For I also like the SHINY PANTS!

Nobody mentioned the little booties. They don't just wear shin guards..they wear little foam booties on their feet...it is a disgrace...
Guy #1 We need a new fighting sport based solely on striking
Guy #2 Oh...that would be too brutal
Guy #1 No...don't worry. We will pad everything they hit with.
Guy #2 Oh. Ok.
I don't care if Guy#1 is Chuck Norris or Guy#2 is Chuck Norris. To me the whole thing is stupid.

I didn't know booties were a part of point sparring.

FCR kickboxing is even worse than WCL no nutriding the SHINY PANTS! Anything where they count the number of kicks and make that an integral part of the scoring is retarded. Also any striking without leg kicks is retarded. YES EVEN BOXING! I want to see boxing with leg kicks. New Ultimate combat sports!

It is very entertaining to watch, but ****, there is no strategy. If a fighter cannot circle, evade, retreat and/or clinch without getting penalized, what else is left of strategy? As WS said, K-1 already had a good unified striking rules. Sanshou rules would have been great as well. ****, if they didn't want the clinch to slow the pace, they could have allowed throws from the clinch, and give penalties if someone clinches without doing anything with it.
WCL is entertaining. Man, I love to watch it. However, I think it was a missed opportunity to implement something more lively.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

It may not be a match of unskilled flailing, but it's still a slugfest, however "crispy" the kicks and punches may be.
Sanshou rules would have been great as well.

You're right in terms of hope for evolution. I seem to recall that they didn't allow knees at all in the first season. Which pissed me off from the get go. Can anyone confirm that?
I just found an article that says they used to make them wear booties but they don't now.
Anyone else curious when a Kyokushin guy will realize that their grand ultimate technique is legal in this silly ruleset?

I think they could throw knees but had to do it without use of there hands. Now they can clinche throw one knee and then the have to let go and continue fighting.
