Does anyone know or have any idea of finding out how Bruce Lee trained with weights. I know he spent a lot of time training all the time but it would be nice to know what kind of workout he did with weights or anything else. He was able to train with weights and gain power without losing speed, and even maybe gaining speed with his full workout. It would be nice to know what he exactly did to get those results. If anyone knows or can find out please post it here.
    Thanks

Check out the book "The Art of Expressing the Human Body" I bought it, read it, a lot of it is good stuff, a lot of it is just stories about how great Bruce was. But I gleaned some good training techniques from it.

What he did was work out to maximize upper body strength so that he would look good for movies. This was done in conjunction with the then brilliant idea of doing little leg work.

The result was a developed upper body that was photogenic and scrawny legs.

Travis, don't worry about it. Sports and science have evolved, look at current athletes and find out what they do.

If Bruce were alive today, I'm sure he'd be researching the latest as well. You can be better than him...believe it.

Uhmm..seeing as how I was going off of only one source I could be wrong but I read that he basically just did mid#'s of reps with 95 lbs on squats. Basically an index of his porportional strength by weight was calculated for upper and lower body strength. He was far above average upper body and around average lower body. I think I have the link at home. I'll get it out later.

    Doch -
He did a lot of leg work and did the 20 rep squat I started a thread on here a while ago - by far the hardest exercise you can do.

i think there's another book specifically about his workouts. thumb thru the bruce lee stuff at the bookstore and see.

basically he did a retarded amount of everything and trained like a freak. i don't know if any of it was specific for martial arts, except maybe his maniacal forearm program.
