I actually learned more about the different Dando form in the Korean arts than I learned about the Dando form in TKD. I learned alot and enjoyed the information but unfortunatley I did not learn much about the TKD Dando form then I already knew. It was/is a good thread though...

I have never heard of a TKD Dando form, especially since there are no weapon forms in TKD unless your instructor just added it in. Was it a short sword or a knife?

It is a knife form. There are several independent TKD groups that do a "dando" form. I can not tell whether it is the same form or not. The only connection that I can find is that each group uses the Chang Hon forms as well.

The only dando form I know is from Sibpalgi, and it is a broadsword form, not a knife form. As was said on Warrior-Scholar, the Dangsudo dando knife forms were largely invented in the US by people who had no idea how to use a knife.

I've heard of the "Silla Knife Form".. even seen some picture guides of it in an older copy of TKD&KMA mag.. could this be it?

I'd question the validity of that just based on the name.

Well yup.. Ive never heard of it before I saw it in the mag. The instructor had one of his students demonstrating it and reckons it was part of the Hwa-rang's training!!

Me.. I dont know either way!
