    Hell yeah! Hell no!

What do you guys think of the MP7?

    Thoughts and opinions?

I know the MP7 is the successor of the MP5. But other than that, I really have no clue. Anybody?

I think if I had to choose a "Personal Defense Weapon" I'd probably go with the FN P90 over the MP7. It's been around longer, has a larger ammo capacity and would be less snag-prone than the MP7 since its magazine loads along the top.

That being said, I haven't fired either and I'm going off spec sheets. I certainly wouldn't mind giving them a try if someone happens to have one lying around.

From what I've read, it appears H&K is competing with FN for PDW bragging rights with the MP7 and the H&K-UCP. I love H&K aesthetics but the price is always a kick in the nuts. The Five-seveN and the P90 already have proven awesome-ness.

I think it's a case of the Germans trying to keep up with the Belgians. Weapons like that have a limited range, require multiple hits to incapacitate, cost a fucking mint, and in general are very mission specific.

Firearms got as good as they're going to get about 30 years ago. Maybe the 6.8 is a good compromise between 7.62 and 5.56 but until caseless rounds are perfected all you're seeing is old ideas in extremely expensive new wrapping.

I dunno, it looks like something out of Halo to me. Of course, the P90 does too sort of, but from what I hear it's a better weapon.

And that's a good point, SFGOON.

as far as airsoft goes, mp7 is more unique and looks cooler, and thus a better choice of toy imo.

Think the idea of a PDW is kinda poor.

You man to tell me a clerk or mechanic is going to be able to hit **** with that MP7? No way

From a materials engineering perspective alone, this is incredibly pessimistic.
