Rock Solid Sword Techniques (for getting yourself killed...)

There is the usual samurai/ninjer LARPing, and then there is this:

I'm yet to decide whether to laugh, or to cry.

On the brightside, if every prepubscent japanophile kenshin wannabe did this at least a blunt iaito, the problem would eventually solve itself.

That's XMA. They do flashy weapon stunts. Some of them are fully aware they can't fight. The rest....are 12.

I'm not specifically sure what to say. On one hand I could point out the yellow cross on the right side of his chest and make 'Krotty for Khrist' jokes, on the other I could say that XMA is nice and all when people (especially the ones doing it) realize it's essentially for entertainment purposes only. But when they stick a bunch of it into a 36 minute, $29.95 video, state that 'This title includes all the basics and fundamentals that you will need to use the sword.' and put it into the lions den in terms of otaku (YouTube), that's just hilarious.

I figured it was XMA/ Revelation MA. Still, they're selling it as the end all for swordwork.

"Lessons include forearm and wrist stretches, 8 basic cuts, stabbing, 8 positions, blocks, conditioning, knee slide, safety, sword history and a whole lot more!"

Yeah, here's a safety tip, dont fucking throw swords up into the air.

As far as this Xtreme crap goes, I couldn't care less.
But when someone so much as considers the prospect/suggestion of flicking a 3ft razor blade around like a cheerleader baton..... its just wrong on so many levels.

The problem is that it's faggoty. Haven't you noticed? Or were you too dazzled by the ten year old boys running around doing gymnastics in dresses?

Is "rock solid" the fake Japanese term for "total horse-****?"
