Idaho Falls Mixed Martial Arts Center : What to make of this?

I've read it. It's terrible. It mixes *some* legitimate information with some mangled Elmore-esque Green Beret "kill-em-all" attitude and a fair amount of "inspirational" quotes. Most everything is spelled incorrectly, training times aren't listed, costs aren't listed. When I called, the man that answered the phone told me that they don't train MMA for competition- they just "get in there and get it over with..."

I'm going to go and watch next week. Maybe.

Thoughts?

PK, here's a few things to ask when you see the class:

What ranks does this guy hold? He only lists:

# Extensive (Gracie Jujutsu) military combatives training
# 25 years experience Gracie Jujutsu, Kickboxing, Aikido, and American Kenpo Karate
# 19 years teaching experience of men, women, children, special needs, military, law enforcement, and security personnel

but no actual rank. Hell, I have experience driving a car but that doesn't mean I'm ready for NASCAR.

Also...

Throughout his dedicated teaching career, Instructor Eric Mooney has won and medaled in countless international and national competitive championships.

When and where?

I've seen worse. but yeah, the fact that he name-checks BJJ all over the place without coming clean about his rank is troubling. I'd definitely ask him straight up about his rank, and if he gave anything but a straight answer ("I'm a purple under ____ ____; feel free to call him and check here's his number"), I'd **** off out of there.

Meh, I won't be in the area for awhile or I would offer to go see. I see several red flags but nothing too serious. Like somebody suggest go there and see. I personally think this is a "we do a lot of stuff" MMA dojo, not a "we fight in a cage" MMA dojo.

He is a piece of work... Anyone that won't give you concrete evidence of their background in a certain style doesn't have a background in that style. They are trying to get you in the door so you feel pressured to stay. I've heard that he is a compulsive liar and hasn't done half of the things he claims.
