    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Kempo Stylists- I have found your hero!

I was watching the World Combat League the other night, and I saw this kid, Stephen Thompson, KTFO 2 guys in what looks like one show. He had some crazy record, 40-0 in full contact, so I thought, who's this guy. Well, see below-

    http://www.upstatekarate.com/stephen_thompson.htm

If the only guy you could really point to was Liddell, than add this guy to your list. he seems to be able to KTFO guys fairly frequently. Sure, he doesn't do MMA, but he fights full contact, and he does it well, so here is someones nuts you can hug.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

All Kickboxing in the UK has belt systems. Is that not the case in America?

I saw that as well, which is BS, but having watched him fight, he's still pretty good.

Nope AFAIK, which is why it kinda raises eyebrows.

Why would it be bs? It would be bs if the org using a belt system is bullshido. But if it isn't, then there is no problem. A belt system is just a grading system, nothing more.

Ah I see. I think pretty much all Kickboxing and even some Thai Boxing gyms have grading systems. The Thai schools use coloured arm bands.

You could put a belt system around anything, but the only real belt that should matter is a championship belt. I mean, the rankings should be based on who you have fought and how well you have done, not bestowed on test system in some dojo.

So a black belt in bjj, judo or kyokushin (just to name a few) don't mean anything unless the person wearing it has earned a champ belt or medal in competition?
