actually, to quote the textbook of medical physiology "bone is deposited in proportion to the compressional load that the bone must carry" along the lines of stress. trauma, as you put it, caused by repeated blows to a hard surface will cause stress fractures. anyhooo, back to the original subject, the idea is sound if ur using it for targeting and focus.

thats reffering to legs and stuff, basiclly means if you put on weight over time your bones will thicken slightly.
Nothing to do with occasional massive stresses on your knuckles as opposed to a constant mild stress.
Like i said, its completely stupid to ruin your hands

Hey, i suggest doing your knuckle work slowly over time. stretch your fingers and rotate your finger joints. This is the same princicpe as rotating your arms and legs and stretching them after a workout. you goto punch the bag lightly at first. if done properly your hands won't be messed up. your feet take the entire 150-200 pounds of your body, but not a lot of average people get arthritis in the foot.
