This brings up a question I have. I don't train striking much or anything, but when I spar I never use shin guards and I kick pretty hard and pretty slow, so I get checked 80% of the time. Anyway, I formed a bony lump on my right shin about 2-3mm high and 3cm in diameter. It was preceded by a darkass bruise and bone soreness that lasted a few weeks. Been feeling fine for two months now, no pain, just a lump.
You guys who train muay thai get this kind of thing alot? -

I got a bump just like that from kicking a wavemaster. That **** was very worn off and I ended up hitting a piece of it with almost no padding, so kaput, my shin on the plastic tube. It hurt like a ************, and it took about a month for the pain to go away (and 6 months, I think, for the lump to dissapear.)

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -

I support this thread. Mine get swollen and bruised but no huge lumps. I do get the concave dents. I wonder about those. I think maybe it's not really a dent but the tissue around the impacted area swelling up. I dont know, but the dents do go away after a while.
