Funny, the cop I know teaches defensive tactics for the local PD. Even though he has an extensive TMA background, he has gone over to a MMA training methodology...

    .... because it works better.

Law enforcement and military instruction are abandoning TMA practices and gravitating towards MMA, because it produces a superior ability to actually fight.

If you think about it 'buzzword' is just a buzzword that was created to discribe words that became commonly used in a certain circle. Think about it!

    Worst argument ever.

First, what is the OP's understanding of what aliveness actually is? Then, even if it is a "buzzword," so what? Are you saying the concept of aliveness is somehow flawed? Or do you just not like the word?

    You fail.

Cool, that's just what Matt Thorton says. Glad to see you train alive.

Doesn't it further demean your art if it can't even capture a simple buzzword?

You'd all be broke and doing katas in no time!

    sincerely, C.
I don't think MMA people 'act like they invented' anything. Most people come to MMA after training in something else, after all. It's not the fault of MMA people that someone listening and watching feels threatened.
