    the kwans

Does anyone here practice anything specific to their kwan. In jidokwan, one of the things we practice is called long forms. It's realy one long form consisting of 52 steps. Each step is a technique we practice both in the form and against an opponent (like a self defence thing). There are 52 techs because traditionally one was taught to you every week for a year and you would practice that tech all week. Does anyone here practice a specific kwan?(chang moo kwan, chung do kwan, etc.)

I know that in the CTF (Choong Sil Taekwondo Federation) the practice a form that has 180 moves or so.

They learn it along with their other forms. The first set has 30 moves, then 40, then 50. the 60 for total of 180.

    They call them discipline patterns.

    Here is the link...

The Moo Duk Kwan, along with the forms they ripped from Okinawan Karate, practices sets of forms that are the founder's interpretations of the Muye Dobo Dong Ji. Chil Sung, Yuk Ro, and Hwa Sun.

Well, obviously the ITF/Chang Hon style has forms different from WTF TKD. And what is the ITF if not the official org for the Oh Do Kwan? Sort of.

CTF does the ITF patterns, I work out with a lady that takes from that school. It has its McDojo elements, but not any more than my BJJ school.

No BB club, no extra hidden fees, or **** like that.

Way back in the day when I did TKD we did the ITF forms. I was told we were Song Moo Kwan. The forms looked and felt like Shotokan.

Is this from your specific to your school or to the Jidokwan itself? I am a Jidokwan person and I have not heard of this type of form.
