Uhm, Judo is not all sport, but okay.
I agree on the theroies being the important thing in MA's. I mean, every BJJ technique for the most part is a Judo tech, the theories on application are different.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

"If you take out the MMA fighters in BJJ, you might be left with a sports grappling group. It doesn't mean it is no good but...."

Most of the top BJJ MMA fighters are also top BJJ sports players.

If you are talking about MMA events like Pride, Ufc, Total Fight, etc.

    Then they are SPORTS!!!

Also the term MMA was coined in reference to these type of events. Hence giving pple the impression that MMA are SPORT fighters.

Wait a minute, I thought that happened a few years ago, when it was realized that to be a successful martial artist against all comers, (this is illustrated in matches, not the street) you had to Cross-Train? And the recent exposure of the Gracies, who have tried to continue their initial dominance, but have failed, is clear illustration of this?? That is, BJJ IS right now, a McDojo style. The new dominant "style" now, is MMA, or crosstraining. This make any sense?

Almost every Judo school, book, and website I have ever saw on judo was all about sport, they train and then go to competition. Nothing like it should be, which is a refined version of jujitsu.

    TKD Boxer,

I don't know every book, school, website you saw but I have several books here that definitely do NOT teach sport. On is basicly called Kodokan Goshijitsu (Kodokan Self Defense methods) no sport there.

Judo may be practiced and played as a sport. Some pple focus on this but there are still many good non sport schools out there, thankfully.
