Systema At Throwdowns? WTF is this thread about anyway?

Yeah. I laughed when I was making the title for this topic to.

Anyway, being new here at Bullshido, I went on Youtube to see if I could find some funny videos from other users. I did, of course, and came across this little gem:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJDnMDJVWmQ#s3FtYQCTLlQ

Under the name "DarthPerilous", I made a cute little comment that I thought was quite humorous. One post later, a user by the name of "StopMoColorado" begins to throw insults here and there and basically nutrides Systema with a passion rivaling Rosie O' Donnell in a gay pride meeting at KFC. He then goes on to claim that two gentlemen, Henry Tsoi and John Elliott, attended a recent Bullshido Throwdown "and OWNED everyone they came up against". Of course, I proceded to ask StopMoColorado for video proof of these events, which he responded by providing the username of one "chinkyLEPRECHAUN".

    http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=chinkyLEPRECHAUN

I visited Chinky's Youtube video collection to see if I could find any videos that fit StopMoColorado's description. So far, I'm not so sure I have. All I've seen so far is one video of random person who may or may not be an MMA'er, taking on someone named "Demetry Furman" who apparently studies Systema, in a match that may or may not have started at the time of recording.

Anyway, I'm not calling this to your attention to settle any kind of online drama. Rather, I'd like to know if anyone of Systema background was actually capable of "OWNING" anyone else at a Throwdown. I've never been to a Throwdown yet, so I lack the first-hand experience to find out if this is true or not. If it is, let me be the first to kill myself. If a Systemer actually kicked the ass of a Bullshido member, life won't be worth living anymore.

Henry and John both post here and the Toronto throwdown was very thoroughly discussed both in the most recent Systema thread on this forum and also in the Throwdowns forum. I think that the BSD forum members they were sparring with would be among the first to acknowledge that they both acquitted themselves very well, but IIRC Henry (HanktheTank) specifically denied "owning" anyone; the throwdown was just a chance to get together and compare styles, etc.

The video clips you're looking for would be these (Henry/Hank is the guy in the black shirt and red and black shorts, "Jellyman" is the Systema practitioner in the white shirt, black shorts and black wrestling boots)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXmVbg9et4o
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BvjHb-Kx78

There are other clips - just search "Chinkyleprechaun's" clip collection for the names HanktheTank and Jellyman.

Anyway, try a forum search for "Toronto Throwdown" and "Systema" to read about the event from all sides. It sounds like everyone had a good time and that quite a few bridges were built.

Read forum rules and you wouldn't have to ask.

    MABS is for serious investigations.

YMAS is for making fun of an art or style.

Which one do you think you fell under with this thread.

Well, I was a wee bit confused when it came to that part. Even though my subject trashes Systema, I believed it fit under an investigation subject more, since it deals with someone who may or may not have made false claims.... concerning a Bullshido event, no less.

Nah. Lurk more read less. False claim from systema regading effectiveness do not need an investigation...just some rolling of the eyes.
