    Crossfit Gyms?

My last thread got pwned by the search function but hopefully this one will fair better. I understand that the crossfit method isnt held in to high regard around here and to be honest I feel the same. What has lead me down the path of Crossfit gyms is my lack of equipment. There is one proper gym but on the other side of two which I will only be able to access once my 4 to 5 day a week rugby practices cease. There is a "group fitness intensive" ( http://www.crossfitvictoria.com/inte...tml?ref=ticker) located around my parts which I would be able to attend. Does anyone know anything about these fitness intensives? They would seem to be a glorified workout of the day which does nothing for my sport needs. Watching the video on the site it would seemthe only equipment they have that I dont is kettlbells which I am on the way to getting. So is this a good idea or not?

I don't think crossfit sucks, but I don't think it matches with my goals. Also I hate running.
Honstly, if you're woirking out hard in your class that should cover the 'sport specific stuff' so as long as you don't overtrain, whatever extra workout you feel you can fit in should only help.

I hate working out with other people, but give the thing a try and see if it's awesome for you.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

A crossfit gym just opened not too far from me. As a matter of fact, two months ago I was trying to convince some friends to open a crossfit gym in almost that exact spot. Why? because they charge $200 a month or $2000 a year for group classes, or $70 for a private lesson.

I absolutely love the Crossfit/Royce Gracie school I go to.

The BJJ is world class, and the Crossfit work out has made me a lot stronger and in much better shape.

Certainly not for everyone...but I have the problem of not really being able to push myself when I workout w/out someone kicking me in the ass to do it. So, it works well for me.

Ignore the haters, they know not of what they speak.

Check Crossfit's website, they have a list of affiliates on the right hand side of the homepage. Honestly you don't have to find a gym. Several of the WOD do not require equipment and alternatively you can snag Ross Enamait's Never Gymless or Infinite Intensity which uses more or less the same methodology. Crossfit's not the only outfit out there using the same strategy.

I have infinite intensity and my current workout follows that with some powerlifting thrown in. I dont want to follow the WOD but I lack equipment. I am moving house soon and am planning on making a home gym that should cater to all my needs.

Naw, I would say someone wants what they perceive is a good looking body (perhaps like Arnold from the avatar) rather than the functional deadliness that is crossfit.

Try Again. Use the search function numb nuts and find out why Crossfit sucks. Functionality... right.
