I'm going to guess that you have a relatively slippery floor. The most common complaint is them falling over, can't say I;ve ever seen them slide around.
but yeh, i think water would make a difference :)

It's on carpet, but the carpet is pretty old. I'll try the water and see what happens.

    I'm still a beast though.:happy3:

also you might just be "pushing" with your techniques. Something else to consider.

i used one at a gym i was visiting a couple years back. i thought it was a really cool item to have in addition to regular bags, especially if you want to target specific places (bridge of nose, jaw, temple, eyes, etc.) cause if you want to be able to hit with that sort of accuracy you will need to train it.

of course it's not moving around and hitting back, but it's better than nothing.

i want the BOB-android edition that has re-breakable limbs, a choke-out sensor and re-gougeable eyes, so we can all practice teh deadly in a more realistic manner.

    Lol!

Mine will be on a concrete floor that isn;t exactly smooth but might put some mats down so that i don't end up wearing through the bottom of the base. I imagine they're quite thick though. Suppose it could also be supported with loose ropes around the stem to stop it from falling over

Not sure. It's not like I've been product testing several of them. The one at the place I train developed cracks in the "skin" in less than a year. It didn't get nearly as much play as the bags do and the bags last much longer. Your mileage will almost certainly vary.

I tried one of these out at sports authority and I found that when I put a plum clinch on it then neck buckled and folded forward. A real neck doesn't fold like that. Screw the bob, give me a crash test dummy :-)

A friend of mine bought not a BOB, but the smaller black version, ...
    BBE punchman.
    Awesome fun!
I've smacked a BOB around a bit, it seemed to move/buckle over more
than this cheaper black BBE, and the pink fleshy colour was most disturbing.
Argos (a shop, kinda) had the BBE on special offer lately, under 90 quid I think.
Grabbing it round the head or neck produced no buckling, great for training knees and especially for the combatives axehands or JUDO CHOP!

Weigh the base with sand and water together, and if it is sliding glue one of them rubbery non-slip mats to it.
