    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Thinking of buying a BOB XL

Very close to getting one of these to use at home as i have nowhere to hang a bag and no room for a decent frame so this looks to be my only option!

    http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp...egory_rn=13518

I used the one in my gym for the first time properly and it seemed pretty good. Gets me out of the habit of just punching straight forward as i was doing on the heavy bag and actually aiming for something. Also the height adjustablility is pretty cool and the legs seem good for training low kicks.

It was only filled with water and so wasn't as sturdy as it could have been but the fact that it moves when you hit it means you're not just standing in the one spot whilst working out, so you get some sort of 'swing' if you like.

I think it's a good way to supplement heavy bag training, but not replace it completely so i will still be using heavy bags at the gym.

Any opinions from people that have used them for a prolonged period of time?

I love BOB's, they're great. Especially love the fact that you can do actual clench knees. I hate working clinch **** on a heavy bag.

Personally, I think you'd be better off with a free standing punch bag

I like the bob, just wish they weren't so expensive. They're kinda meh for punching, but for clinch stuff and kicks they're pretty nice imo.

Yeah i think they would also be better for conditioning than the free standing bags like the wavemaster as they are not as soft.

    Definitely good for the clinch.

I'm going to see how much my instructor can get them for through his supplier as they are expensive in shops. But if it improves my game by 5% then i'll have my money's worth i reckon!

In my experiance Bob doesn't hold up very well over time. I suggest stocking up on duct tape.

How much time are we talking about?

I'd probably get around 3 hours use a week out of it as the rest of my time would be spent in a gym.

    Cheers

Mine is filled with sand all the way to the top and it still moves all over the place. Would adding water to the mix make that much difference?

    I guess I'm just a beast. :boxing:
