Anarchy =/= democracy.
Also, direct democracy is simply not practical for any body of government larger than that of 6th century bce Athens.
If anarchy is so great, then why the hell isn't a significant portion of Africa dominating the world?"Keep a sharp knife, shiny boots and be on time." -

This is straight from the wiki article on Anarchy.
(The word "anarchy" is often used by non-anarchists as a pejorative term, intended to connote a lack of control and a negatively chaotic environment. Whether because of this or a desire to differentiate themselves from individualist anarchists some activists (primarily during the late nineteenth century) self-identified as libertarian socialists. In more recent times anti-authoritarian has offered another similar self-identification. However, anarchists still argue that anarchy does not imply nihilism, anomie, or the total absence of rules, but rather an anti-authoritarian society that is based on the spontaneous order of free individuals in autonomous communities, operating on principles of mutual aid, voluntary association, and direct action.)
The most educated person I know is a friend of mine from college who has a Ph.D. in Sociology. He identifies with Anarcho-socialism. He's worked as a statistician for a major hospital for years, and some of his studies on how badly the government treated the sick poor were so damning that the Bush administration asked the hospital to stop him from doing any more. He's still doing them with the hospital's support.
Sure, there are Anarchists who break the windows of Nike stores and Starbucks, but there are plenty who believe in nonviolence, who don't destroy anything or hurt anybody. Many of them protest nonviolently, sometimes by chaining themselves to business and government building's doors. When cut free and arrested, they don't fight, they go limp and give passive resistence. Braggin' about being a riot cop and being 300 Spartans to their 1 million Persians makes you look like a stupid fascist bully, which proves their point about corrupt governments and their lapdogs.
The idiot protesters who do break ****? The kind of assholes who throw bricks at police horses and then start filming the cop's responses afterwards? Assholes. I don't agree with them. Go start a petition. Get signatures. Vote. There are legal, nonviolent means to change the world for the better.

That excerpt only shows that pseudo-anarchists posted their position in an open forum; the word "anarchy" has a long-established definition in the English language, anyone who uses the word to describe a concept other than the definition of "anarchy" is using the word incorrectly. Such is the foundation of communication via common language; a word means nothing if it can mean anything.

anyone in the crowd who's breaking the law, vandalizing ****, and whatnot, needs to have their head busted.
anyone in the crowd claiming to be an anarchist without actually standing for anarchy... needs to have their head busted.
anyone who looks like a hippie should probably have their head busted for good measure. -

man it would be funny to me if the anarchist members of this forum and the LEO members of this forum had a sort of informal throwdown at a protest.
That would amuse me.There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice. -
