FogShield Claims To Mystify Thieves And Keeps Your Car Safe

New York, NY (AHN) - ShatterGARD Inc., the company behind such descriptive safety products as ShatterGUARD, which protects windows from break-ins and storms, has unveiled its FogSHIELD, taking the company from the "don't break my stuff" industry into the "don't break through to steal my stuff" market.

The FogSHIELD will throw down "enough fog to cover 2,000 square feet in less than 15 seconds" to help deter thieves from stealing things like your car or from breaking into office.

The gas lasts for 45 minutes, but is "non-toxic" and emits a minty smell. The company says an initial installation will come with enough charge for 15 uses.

It seems like they'll run into problems when the fog causes traffic accidents.

The very first thing that came to mind after reading that was to use it as a smoke screen during a high speed pursuit. I'm actually suprised no one has done it yet.

Thing that occurred to me:
Yes they break in, and it's covered in fog so they can't see and thus won't try and drive it anywhere.
Umm... now I'm not a scientist but it occurs to me that if you are STEALING SOMETHING.

IT ISN'T YOURS, and thus by proxy:
What the **** is the thief going to car if he wrecks the bumper and the headlights crashing the thing out of the parking garage? He still has your car, and now it's just wrecked.

The problem I see is that if someone is trying to steal your car, the smoke prevents witnesses from clearly identifying the guy.

Well Officer , I didn't see it happen I just getting a cup of java and couldn't see through the smoke cloud from this angle ... but that nice old lady over there says a "ninja" dropped a smoke bomb in a panic when the car alarm went off then backed , I guess it was the owner , over at about 35 miles an hour and ran off on foot over to cracktown with a CD player .

Yeah all i saw was the smoke when I looked up as the alarm was going off . I heard the car start and saw the someone run into the cloud . Hard to make out details ... but it could be the same dude that is kabobbed on the exhaust pipe .
