In my mid-30s, I'm much stronger than I was in my 20s, but I don't have close to the same cardio or recovery ability. I'm pretty sure I could get the cardio back if I had more time to work on it. In the meanwhile, I make up for it by using my vast knowledge of dirty tricks on young upstarts.

    Get your guard up,

and quit blocking punches with your face.
If you can't laugh at yourself,
Others will be happy to do it for you. :evil6:

I'm turning 34 next month and it is definitely the mileage that matters. A lifetime of football, baseball, basketball, and generally being reckless has made mornings very tough for me. Three mornings a week I wake up after a Crossfit workout and bjj the night before. I usually feel like I've been hit by a truck. Once I get going I'm ok for the most part, but injuries last months instead of weeks for me.

I'm a much better fighter now than I've ever been, but that's mostly because I'm smarter. I'm not afraid of getting older though. I like getting older and smarter.

Whats really annoying is that I am probably going to have to cut down on drinking, smoking and eating junk. Damn. There goes the 'my body is my own amusement park" lifestyle plan (standing by for numerous misinterpretations)

One kick in the balls is on it's way

If you want to be pal you can save me the time and effort and have someone else kick you in the balls for me and video tape it.

At 30 I played in 4 rugby games in two days! We won the tournament on the second day which happened to be my 30th Birthday! I was a loose head prob BTW, but they let me play like an extra wing forward, when I could break out fast enough...sweet!

Then the next day I was lifting a neighborhood kid over the back yard fence to see my pregnant wife and BAM! My back went out.......

I quit drinking at 30 and I haven't been in a street fight or been to jail since, sometimes I miss it, but the kids have never seen me drink and think that I'm almost normal....
