Style: I request to be banned--
Between "Competitive roller skating" and "why I want to be a black belt" essays, I get the impression that these people are not geniuses. WTF kind of karate school offers college scholarships anyways? If I were a parent, I would've been rather suspicious of the whole thing from day 1. At any rate, it's too bad the kids aren't getting what they were promised/led to believe.

They mentioned paperwork, but if the cop/former insurance investigator hasn't figured out a way to sue, I'd guess it was nothing as formal as a signed contract.
I don't care how dumb the kids were or weren't--they were promised something huge in exchange for clearly defined hard work and behavior. They did the work and fulfilled the expectations, and now the other party isn't going to deliver. If the facts are true (I don't assume they are) as laid out in this article, that should be fraud.
Whether the law will step in or not, this guy deserves to go the way of Coda Scott and Tiger Klay. He should not be allowed to continue.
