Really? Man around here a basic pair of Chucks rarely exceeds $30. For me the padding difference was neglible as far as the feel of them went.

    Besides, Chucks look cooler. :tongue3:

I posted this in teh other thread, but it's very good for getting your form right. Dude explains it in very simple and easy to get terms.

Must still be the "in" thing in San Diego. The trend passed away around here about a year ago and I happily brought my Chucks back out of retirement.

So you guys wear wrestling shoes (or shoes specific for lifting)? :icon_scra

****, I always wore cheapo $30 sneakers or a pair of very old timberland boots.

Not only are wrestling shoes good for deadlift, but they're outstanding for squats. Running shoes/shoes with padding absorb some of the weight on the lift, and as such, tend to retard your stretch reflex.

Pavel talked about proper footwear in "Beyond Bodybuilding". After wearing wrestling shoes the first time, I've never looked back.

There's also the issue of running shoes tilting your feet forward (less padding on the ball, more on the heel) which can really screw with the mechanics of the deadlift and the squat.

Hmmmm, I guess I'm gonna fork the moolah for a pair of wrestling shoes. I hope I can find a bargain. The price range is wide, from $30-something to $120+ :icon_conf

Get the cheapo ones. You aren't actually wrestling in them, so it doesn't matter if you **** them up.
