"do you think they are in trouble of closing down since in the last 10 years there been a interest mostly in grappling arts or reality combat or krav maga.

do you think it will survive or go down and the newer arts or reality combat will rain supreme."

another factor is the existance of "fanboys"
same thing with WWE, people like to talk/discuss/rant/tell other people to STFU about something they like to pretend to know

in opinion, it depend on the country...!!

in my origin country(indonesia) people are started to look more on tradisional art.

but here malaysia no body actually bother any art beside karate, taekwondo, and judo.

oh ya there is one tradisional art that are popular here. pencak silat(penjat silat) hhmm that because there were no other dojo else than pencak silat out side bigcity. and the govt here are supporting the art(well it`s national art).

but this pencat silat also had some problem in gaining trust from the publik, since there were some (bad)dojo who actually teach black magic practice inaddition to the martial art.
well they claim after do the ritual stuff they are invincible for some amount of time.

well i still remember clearlly that few year back .my president (that time was abduhrahman wahid) with his supporter who is train with this invincible ritual stuff. so when our president are force to give up his position by the parliment. his supporter said/claim that they were able to immune again bullet and ready to protect him till the end. ahahhaah come the funny part...

so when the parliment make the decision to discharge him, the govt send some troop from anti riot battalion(notice that anti riot doesnt use real bullet, only ruber). suddentlly there were no one still standing in front of the istana merdeka(indonesia white house) to prove that the magic thing were actually work.

<--sorry for my damn poor english, iam trying to improvise it--> thanks

    Bullshido in Action!

It was depressing in Florida to see the storefront strip mall Karate Kiddies and ATA and so forth that ya'll keep talking about. Isn't the real question "Are these bad schools actually traditional?" or are they just popular manifistations of watered down techniques?

But, no, I don't think trad arts are in any danger; Kajukenbo/Kempo is strong and keeps changing, Kyokushing is popular, and so forth.
