Looking for partner in Long Island Area

I'm looking for someone to spar with to sharpen up on my MMA and give me some pointers on how to improve. Bring whatever equipment you deem necessary...I'm pretty good with my control so I hope that whoever replies is as well. If you want to know my experience just ask and I'll be willing to release that info. You guys can set the rules and we'll negotiate the rest. Thanks.

Any way we can go through some things before then? I don't like the idea of showing up somewhere and then looking like an idiot because I'm out matched.

Um...yes?

Where do you currently train? There should be no worries about being out-matched considering at throwdowns you make it clear before you spar anyone what contact level and intensity you are willing to participate at. If you don't feel comfortable banging with someone, just let them know. It's all good man.

Currently training for at Fitness Through Boxing. It's in Huntington. They don't have an MMA team there yet, we're working on it. My friends and I spar pretty much wherever we can and whenever we can.

$120 a month for a boxing gym? A boxing gym that from the website has set class times???? When I was at Heavy Hitters (only 2 months) it was $50 a month for open use of the gym M-F 4-11. You just go in and train whenever you can for as long as you want. Plus there were trainers floating around if you showed enough interest in competing.

120 a month for boxing means your getting ripped off. The heavy hitters boxing gym also had a 300 for a year plan.

I don't pay 120 a month and that's pretty much what I do...I go and train use the weights and I run through bag drills on my own. If I want help I ask. The only time I don't do that is on Tuesdays and Thursdays when I go to the MMA portion of the school. The program is new and we're trying to work things out with the owner of the school for getting training and making a team.
