    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Broken nose, need to see a doc?

I dropped my hands and got kicked in the face during sparring, think I broke my septum. Shin connected with the right side of my nose. Bled a lot and it's two days later, and my head still aches, and the part of the nose that was hit is still sore. No more bleeding however.

Anyone who's broken a nose before got any advice to offer? I was told it's not serious, but just want to ask because I get a splititng headache. Thanks.

you could get a deviated septum if you don't get it properly reset. that sucks.

So a broken bone in your body is "not serious" on what planet?

That's my main concern, it's kinda off-centre now, attributed it to the swelling but I'm not a doctor.

Ok, I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I'm real low on moolah (don't wanna go see a doc), what can I do to make it reset properly?

Definitely see a doctor. Unless of course you've got a medical degree and a flair for self surgery, you're going to end up with an even more fucked up nose if you don't.

Strictly speaking, the septum is a cartilage, not a bone :eng101:

In any case, ****, you are right. It is serious. PPlate, you should be going to the doc, like, now. A broken/deviated septum is not going to correct itself when it heals.

The longer you stay with a deviated, broken septum, the greater the chances you may end up going under the knife with a corrective surgical procedure known as septoplasty. I went through that in 95. Not fun. Go see a doc.

I broke my nose in a car accident, a long time ago. I had it set by a doctor. One thing for which I was not prepared: setting your nose involves packing your nasal passages with gauze. Gauze packed nose=insane itching/impending sneeze feeling, without being able to scratch or sneeze to relieve the torture. Also, when they take the packing out, you will be seriously amazed and disgusted at the amount of gauze your nasal cavaties will hold.

Still, go to a doctor: you'll get fixed up right.
