heavyweight training weapons

Anyone know a good source for heavy training weapons? Namely heavyweight bo's in the 3+lbs range? My current bo is 3 lbs but I wanted to find some more like it for friends of mine.

Heavyweight bokken or jo or even spears would be of interest as well.

Cold Steel makes some hefty products. I think the president Lynn Thompson custom makes everything for himself, and he's a big guy. Anyway:

They talk about this magic plastic stuff, but I haven't used anything made of it yet. I plan on getting some escrima sticks.

Not much magic in those, but lots of plastic. :)
There's nothing wrong with a lot of the stuff Cold Steel makes, necessarily, but none of it has the magical properties Thompson often claims for his stuff.

i had a Jo made from this stuff for my brother. it was very heavy.

Better yet, make the steel pipe into an electromagnet.

For bokken, you can google 'suburi bokken' and I'm sure you'll find something. You can always look for weapons made of more dense woods (various Ironwoods, for example), the problem that typically arises, however, is that these woods are considered 'exotic' and thus are usually marked up significantly.

I have Ironwood arnis sticks I bought in the Philippines for dirt cheap ($5/pair?) but i haven't even seen a pair out here.

I don't use them at all though. I heard they're very brittle and will practically explode if I spar with them.
