heavyweight training weapons
Anyone know a good source for heavy training weapons? Namely heavyweight bo's in the 3+lbs range? My current bo is 3 lbs but I wanted to find some more like it for friends of mine.
Heavyweight bokken or jo or even spears would be of interest as well.

Cold Steel makes some hefty products. I think the president Lynn Thompson custom makes everything for himself, and he's a big guy. Anyway:
Its a beefy spear
They talk about this magic plastic stuff, but I haven't used anything made of it yet. I plan on getting some escrima sticks.

i had a Jo made from this stuff for my brother. it was very heavy.
however he won't/can't make Bo sized staffs from the stuff."Face punches are an essential character building part of a martial art. You don't truly love your children unless you allow them to get punched in the face." - chi-conspiricy

For bokken, you can google 'suburi bokken' and I'm sure you'll find something. You can always look for weapons made of more dense woods (various Ironwoods, for example), the problem that typically arises, however, is that these woods are considered 'exotic' and thus are usually marked up significantly.
