Isn't it funny how training in a 5000-10,000 year old art for six years makes her look like she does very poor karate?

If not for the obvious cultish over-tones and "we are a 5000 year old art" crap, people should keep away from Kixa purely for the obvious lack of proficiency from a 6 year student and instructor.Last edited by sochin101; 4/06/2007 9:20am at .

If it were me, I'd tell them about your judo and tell them you're looking to add some striking to your repertoire... that way, if you come off as sounding like you know what you are talking about (which you may do... it's difficult to act dumb sometimes), they won't necessarily hear alarm bells and clam up.

Honestly? I'd just get a feel for the place.
If you go in with too specific questions ("I see from your website you claim a 5,000+ year history, where are the cave paintings showing your basic techniques?") they might suss you...
You have to recognise the possibility that they know about this thread... and that any questions that are posted here for you to ask, could end up red-flagging.
Just go in there with the intent of observing a class, and if you do talk to the instructor, play it by ear. -

Style: KARATE / MUAY THAI--
i saw a demo a few years back when they tried to open a class locally. hated them ever since. they keep trying to open them/advertise, but now its a dfifferent instructor and its ladies only. i think i even ranted about it here... cant remember.
they bugged me at the time - i know theres some mege threads on other forums, mostly focusing on:
the instructor courses: ie you pay, go to indonesia, come back an instructor
the kixa/kateda controversy
if i get round to it, ill try and post them
