    Martial Arts with religion??

    Whatever next?

Kung-Fu monks, Zen Swordsmanship and shinto Aiki styles.....

.....seriously though, it must be quite a shock to go to a Dojo and learn Martial Arts

(presumably for your own reasons) in a secular environment and to later have to share the

instructor's "enlightenment" and do it for Jesus or what not.

For the record I am a rather staunch and militant atheist, so I was NONE too happy when the whole RMA thing started.

    Hi Binary,

I can see your point - kind of like taking an ancient history class because

you were going to learn about Egypt, only for the teacher to turn it into

    religious studies.

"hey, I could have done double math instead!"

    Sort of, like....

No it's more like signing up to learn about ancient history, only to learn that Stone Henge was built by martians.

This is a growing thrend in the MA community. Religion and MA is the new BB program. Born again mentality is running rampant in society. These people are also bleeding into MA now. Instead of increasing the level of instruction they incorporate the bible. Again duping the customers/students into believing in a system.

Why do should people have a problem with this? Many of these people were untrained MA instructors to begin with now they are untrained clergy. People really should look into these instructors backgrounds and research not only the MA credibility but thier theological training. While the intentions may be good the actual effects of thier efforts my not be felt for years.

    HOLY CRAP

that RMA stuff is some of the weirdest **** I've seen this week
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.

I bet this guy doesn't use a bank or have an ATM card. I mean, those are also marks of the beast.

Satan is supposed to be so dangerous, so threatening, but every fucking christian group like this treats him like their retarded uncle. I mean, is satan really going to engage in a kali face off with dipship inbred rednecks in camo pants. I mean, if satan can possess people, why doesn't he just get someone to attack you forcing you to kill the person. And then satan and his minions can possess the judge, and jury and sentence you to life in prison. Then possess your children and accuse you of incest and rape.

After all, I just came up with this. Satan has got to have a better plan than online retail.

    --part4
if satan was going to have a dual, I think it would be based more around breakdancing and less around fat man knife larping. FWIW, people seem to think Sayoc kali is **** anyways.

On the bright side at least the RMA BS made it painfully obvious you had to leave, and now you're on to something better. You could have just continued on in mediocrity.

Seriously though.. what a nutjob. Someone mail that man a copy of Dawkins' latest book.

i'm a pretty religious person so it doesn't bother me when an instructor talks to me about it, however i have never understood why people who believe in a higher power can't also incorporate logic into their lives. i guess that is what makes them such zealots in the first place (blind faith). it is especially disturbing when they push these crackpot theories on kids, who haven't learned how to be free thinkers yet. the thread starter was able to decide on his own and leave, but wee ones aren't that capable yet.

LOL at cyrijl comedy critique :icon_wink

    But I must confess:

You don't wear white socks with black pants and black shoes. What a tool.
When I was 12 my first MA was Shaolin Kung-Fu and WE all wore a white t-shirt, black pants, white socks and black kung-fu slippers.

I think you will find this is quite common in most kwoons of the 1980's period perhaps influenced by Hong Kong Kung-Fu films or just Chinese culture?

Either way I never thought it made me look anything other than Cool :5cold: as my Sifu dresssed like that for training, so it must be right!
