YOU HAVE ESCAPED JUST IN TIME. PERHAPS YOU ARE INDEED THE LAST STARFIGHTER.
On a serious note, I notice that the one guy you had good things to say about (Scott) does not appear on the website. Either he wasn't added to the new and improved version or he was removed, but he's not in the "Black Belt Instructors" page. There is, however, a very nice prom photo of the 16-year-old karate black belt with her eyes closed and clearly thinking "Put away the goddamn camera."
So that's pretty neat. -

Having now explored the new site.
The Student Testimonial. Jerry Holder, I hate that man. He firmly believes that Chi-Sao will save his life, and that if his kung-fu is good enough he will never get blindsided, or tackled, or taken to the ground.
Jiu-Jitsu is useless to him, because he has teh devastating elbow strike.
He's also very "You're young, what could you know?" about damn near everything.
I hope he dies in a fire.
But yeah, I also noted the lack of Scott's name. I'll dig through my old Blue Belt notes, and see if I can't find my certificate, I think it has his full name on it. He rountinely performs well in the surrounding grappling tournaments (2nd 3rd place), and all of us who have gone to grappling tournaments have done well. Which I suppose speaks well of him. -

Half assed jujitsu strikes again. Been there brother; except it took me almost four years two surgeries and a Brown Belt around my waist that meant **** when I finally stepped on the mat against a competent BJJ purple belt.
Is this place near you?

Can't go wrong with an instructor certified by Pedro Sauer.
EDIT: **** you have a treasure trove of BJJ in Ten...

This guy seems to know his **** and apparently has a BJJ Pan Ams gold to prove it.

This is a Pedro Sauer affiliate as well.Last edited by GoldenJonas; 4/04/2007 9:17am at .

Been there done that. Started as a decent FC sparring TKD dojo (yeah I know, crazy huh), I went on hiatus and was thinking about coming back... Only during my hiatus my former tkd instructor got accused of trying to kill his wife, converted to jesus, and now not only does he do god-awful demos but also does TKD birthday parties too.
WTF IS A TKD BIRTHDAY PARTY
Anyways, maybe he and terry can hook up and do a whole devil versus TKD/Kung fu thing.
The devil has no defence against chi sao or spinning back kicks, btw.
Good luck finding a new school. -

Unfortunately the Gracie place is like forty five minutes/hour from where I live in Chattanooga.
But sacrifices have to be made, so if I have to, then I have to. There's also a place run by a guy named Chet Blalock, I've looked for a sight and can't find one. He is supposed to teach BJJ and MT.
I dunno if he is reputable at all or not though. -
