    Tire training?

I have decided that I will start using tires as a training tool ie pulling them, flipping them, smacking them with sledgehammers and the sought. I have also decided that tires are very expensive. Does anyone know ways to get cheap tires, perferably large tires and if not good alternatives?

A car junkyard would be a good place to start.

Hmm.. You're gonna want a big ass tire for sledging. Semi-Truck size, may be a clue to where to look. I believe most big truck companies send their tires to have them retreaded, either find the company they send them to, or ask the trucking company itself.

I'll ask my gym tomarrow where we got it. But I'm betting it'll be out of a dumpster.

Tire places have to pay for their tires to be removed and destroyed. Just go by the nearest truck/industrial tire store and ask to have one.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

If it weren't because I live in a residential area full of octogenarians that nag at the most minuscule noise, I would be using a tire and sledgehammer. I did it a couple of times, and it's an excellent exercise.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

This is true, getting a tyre should be no problem. Don't use it with your best gear on though, they're fucking filthy bastards.

Et tu, brutus? My g/f can't skip in her apt without having her neighbours complaining about the noise, even during the day. Stupid world we live in.
