    Ninjerism

Ok, you might think this is the world's biggest troll job but bear with me for a second. I'm a chunner and I want to take up BJJ (nothing unusual so far). The problem being that the only remotely local (bear in mind I can't drive) BJJ Dojo also teaches ninjerism...in the same class. I had the ''pleasure'' of doing a month of BJK last summer and it's not something I particularly want to repeat.

So the question is: is it worth turning up to a Dojo (I think he's a purple in BJJ) and put up with an hour of ninjer cosplaying to do an hour of BJJ. I will be going on monday with any luck but I'm just fishing for opinions.

You might post the name of the school in question. There maybe some here who are familiar with the place or the instructor. But to do some math for you Ninjers + X = -X,

It's the Yeo Dojo in Wandsworth London. www.yeodojo.net is the link

I know about the ninjer buisness, as I've said: not too fond of BJK training (not my type of larp ;) ) The thing is he appears to be training at the gracie barra and a legit purple belt so who knows?

Thats the first time I have ever heard of this. It leaves an odd taste in my mouth, like pennies.

I think ninja training would be a great laugh. Plus you could badger the guy to teach you ninja related BJJ.

I read this quickly and thought you said penises.

Does he teach the classes separately, or is it 1/2 ninjer and 1/2 BJJ? The classes are two hours so a solid hour of BJJ is good. Sucks that you'll have to go through an hour of bujinkan though, personally I wouldn't be willing to do that even for some BJJ.

I think it might be worth investigating the local judo clubs as well, maybe you can find one that devotes 40-50% of time on newaza. That way when you do half a class of stand-up it isn't t3h ninjerism.

The local judo club that I went to (only one with a website and near me it seems) seems to deny the existence on ne-waza. The Carlson Gracie academy is probably doable over the summer but this is much, much closer so until then...looks like this is my only route into BJJ

Yes, it is one hour of LARP and one hour of BJJ

I feel sorry for you. Would he be offended if you asked to only attend the second half of training?
