Willing as I am to demonize Dana White and his sometimes questionable decision making, this is the right time for this fight. The other quality fighters in this division are not on Chuck's level, IMO. Rampage is the best fight available, plain and simple. Any fights attempting to "hype" this inevitable event would be a superfluous risk (injury, specifically).

However, the Rampage that beat Chuck WAS a horrible stylistic match up for him. That Rampage no longer exists. Look at Rampage's fight with Lindland as an example. He's not done, but he is not what he once was.

Or, and I know this is crazy, Lindland is a damn good fighter in his own right.

No doubt. I meant no disrespect.

My point was that Rampage looked flat this whole fight. Lindland gets some credit for that, but I also see Rampage's performance as part of a trend. He used to be such a beast, but he's been relatively listless (read: gunshy) since the Silva beatdowns. It started against Ninja, and continued into the Eastmann fight.

    I don't totally disagree.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Sad but true. I wouldn't put all my money on Chuck just yet, but I'm guessing that it'll be a lot closer than last time around.
