- threadmills are awesome when you have crappy weather. An eliptical can hit your quads with some imagination, threadmills do not. Yet threadmills IMO allow you to burn calories more, and you can increase the incline to help your knees and shins... and they are the best tool for **** like this (I'm doing this **** in about 2 hours at the office gym):

- outdoor running is perhaps the best, so long as you have strong shins and knees. Unless your knees are absolutely banged, pple can work around painful knees while jogging one way or another. Also, outdoor running is the only way to trully condition your shins to avoid shin splints (in addition to works towards avoiding/correcting dorsiflexion inflexibility)
People should try outdoor running, even if it has to be just 1 mile with a short stride and slow pace due to knees. Period.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris -

Got $15k? Buy one of these. http://focalpointwellness.com/services/rom

Holy crap is it the most intense workout machine I've ever used. The "4 minute workout" is a bit optimistic but close (mine is like 12 minutes)
the real website is here - but it's horrible and annoying and is a midi file away from being "awesome" circa 1994.

thats what happens when a stair machine freaks with an elliptical on a dirty toilet
thats diesel
my opinion is that stair machine is better then treadmill is same as elliptical
:P
btw, the elliptical fuckin' murders my upper legs. very nice.
to be honest, that site is a little bogus sounding.... it says a four minute workout is equivalent to 85 minutes of walking? i mean, common.....Last edited by polishillusion; 4/06/2007 1:59pm at .

I don't exactly buy that either - but it will wipe you out and doesn't stress your joints. It's an odd feeling.
It's pretty cool - the wheel is weighted and connected to chains (and some weird ****) so that you can row or stair climb with lots of resistance in both directions. You do get a full range of motion too - even on a big guy like me.You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there. -

a weird thing i have with my elliptical is that it burns 100 calories in 7 or 8 minutes(or so it says).... is that right? i mean, it seems like a lot of calories for a little easy work and i wasn't too tired... i was sweating though. that was my first time, and its been congruent with that the past few days.
the machine seemed a little bogus cause i stopped "ellipticiing" and the calorie count kept going up, automatically, which seems weird.
