    Hell yeah! Hell no!

advice for new muay thai practicioners?

im just starting muay thai after finally being able to locate a club, does any1 have any tips for me apart from the obvious "watch out for elbows"? I've been involved in other forms of kickboxing for a while now so im not a total noob, but does any1 have any do's and dont's that might keep my '6 years without a broken nose' intact?

    thanks for all useful replies

    1. Don't bob at the knees or weave from the waist .

    2. Keep your guard up .

    3. Ask your coach .

    4. Remember to expose your back as a defensive tactic .

Don't be afraid to ask your coach questions and make suggestions for what you'd like to learn (I'm talking about basics like clinch fighting and what not, not some Ong Bak nonsense). Don't worry about elbows. You should never need to "watch out" for them unless you're fighting professional muay thai in California or somewhere abroad. Anyway, this belongs in Guantanamo Bay.

Best advice: Find a great coach, attend class regularly, be humble and friendly to everyone there and do whatever your coach tells you to.
