    Hell yeah! Hell no!
That fist versus palm strike thing reminds me of a confirmed medical report where a police officer got HIV and Hep C (I believe) when he punched a guy in the jaw with a closed hand. The guy's lips pulped and his teeth cut the officer's knuckles.

Damn...still wanna see that multi-man sparring drill :(

I'll get that video here; my school opens up May 1, so once that is up for a bit I should have the neccesary people. As for palm-strikes, I definetly agree that close in they are ideal. However, I was also refering to longer range strikes. People in general (again from my med school classes) break their last few knuckles when punching someone quite frequently. Between this fact, my instructor's advice, and my own proficiency with open hand strikes, I can say that I am less likely to break my hand in a palm heel position than in a fist in about 90% of situations. To each his own though.

The enlisted man at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base bottle store told my mother, "Lady, that's some good chard there." When she was buying some cheap ass mags of slop. Well-to-do by the end of her life, but depression child, she couldn't force herself to spend money on good wine.

So this thread is about palm heel strikes? I can't remember where I came in - blame it on the new and improved Hearty Burgundy. An article on the wines of my youth http://www.azcentral.com/home/wine/a...ldies0729.html - you might be old enough to have drunk Ripple?

I like palm heels myself, use them on the bag sometimes, specially when my wrist is giving away. I used them in a spar/fight once:
