I've started today on a hopefully grand adventure into that is handicraft work. (maybe my years in boy scouts may actually pay off)
I started lookin yesterday at grappling dummies to practice my groundwork on since school and track have me all tied up and i'm only capacle of going to the gym about twice a week. Much to my dismay i found that these things run anywahere from $200 to $500. I say "shfuck that" and have decided to make my own out of clothes and duct tape and whatever i happen to find laying around the house.
so far i have amassed
-1 old zip up hoodie (from my old rad skaterdude days, its always good to beat up on your shameful past)
-about twenty pounds worth of old clothes
-hemp twine and some old cord of some sort
-the magical thing that is mothers sewing kit (i never thought i'd actually use it)
-and 3 rolls of duck brand duct tape
i'll try and get some pics uploaded tomorrow of the materials i have to work with, note that i'm only making a torso, i don't plan on really drilling leglocks much on it. I plan on spending no more than twenty dollars on this dummy of mine, and i don't expect it to last more than a year.
wish me luck

Some of the guys in ARMA made a pretty solid grappling dummy out of easy to get and cheap materials. Here it is:
I wrassled with that dummy a few times, he's pretty solid.
