    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    training plan

folks because of serious medical problems about a year and a half back, my physical capabillity isn't quite what it used to be.

now my plan to rectify it was this

starting again two days a week then for a number of months

then three days a week for 45 minutes each day for a number of months

then 4 days a week for 50 minutes each day for a number of months

then 5 days a week for 55 minutes a day for number of months

then I am planning to stay at training five days a week and over time increasing th length of training sessions eventually up to two hours a day five days a week

I enacted this plan to over a year ago and am up 4 days a week 50 minutes a day. I will probably use the the two I am not doing martial training to weight lift when I finally get to that point

Since I know there are those more experience on this board I was wondering what they think of this

I my self I never trained longer then 75 minutes in a day so I am also looking for advice

depends entirely on what you are doing in your training

You've said about as close to nothing as the Roman alphabet allows in so many characters.

Of course, I'm warning myself to be careful what I wish for, since I'm implying you should elaborate.

I mean my sword training, the above post is my plan for my sword training, what specifically I am looking for advice on increasing the number of days that one trains in a week as well increasing the time of each training session.
and also just any plain thoughts on that plan

depends entirely on what you are doing in your training. "sword training" is not an answer.

2 hours is good for nothing other than training for marathons. Even with skill training, you learn best when fresh. If your weight lifting, you should shoot for increased intensity each session, and concentration on form, and even with skills training, it's one and the same. Length of time means nothing.

guess all those elite level fighters training 6+ hours a day should be in marathons instead of the UFC right?

Right now, nobody has defined a goddamn thing they're talking about, and if the usual pattern applies, they never will.

So let's just let this one die.

okay my apoloies folks I honestly wasn't trying to vague,

mainly what I'm looking for in my sword training is to perform faster cuts and thrusts without sacrificing form or the power of the technique

now as to length, I was off the understanding that while sword training is skills training it isn't a speciialized skill like say sword drawing, and that one could train for a lengthy period of time without developing slompy form.

    isn't that true

Work on speed first - cut and thrust as fast as possible - then correct your form.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.
