Wow. I want to storm a dojo

I remember this from another place DOD. It's too suspect. He might be BSing.

According to the MMA in PA website Robson was promoted to 3rd dan by Mansor in 12/06.

Now if Robson is under Marcos Santos, as he states on his site, why the hell is he getting his 3rd degree from Mansor? Looks like the name of Carlos Gracie Jr. is getting dragged into this mess as well.

To be fair, I don't believe Marcos himself has enough rank to promote someone else to 3rd Dan independently.

Of course, I'm not entirely sure how that works in BJJ, anyway. So, I might be talking out of my ass on this point. Regardless, it would seem to me that Rigan Machado above Marcos would have this capability. So, your observation is still curious.

Exactly. That's why I can't figure out what Mansor's doing in the picture.

To be fair, if he is Brazilian, then 'professor' is a very common title for not only any kind of teacher but also a few other occupations, too.

I'm not fond of these type of things carrying over when a person emigrates, but it would be understandable if this turns out to be the case.

To be fair, Rigan Machado doesn't trot out the "professor" title. He's much more laid back than that. Maybe when I see him next I'll ask him about the mighty Robson.

If you do see Rigan Machado again, please do ask him regarding Robson and report back here. He is currently ducking the DuckofDeath's requests for further information (as is Marcos Santos).

BTW: Yes, I do wear the yellow star of a 'chunner.' As I indicated in the previous thread on this subject, I also am an acquaintance of Marcos Santos (and now also his brother, Marcios).
