Great rant and very true. Again, while I do not agree with his methods; at least DoD is persistant. I also believe a lot of fault should lie with those on this forum who are in a position of getting to the truth but choose not to.

That's interesting considering this article I read on his website (I can't find it now) where he talks about making sure the instructor you find has valid rank from a valid association. Not a thread derailment mind you. The question then becomes, what happens if said person was able to obtain rank from a valid assoication/teacher even though he/she has not earned or is not at that skill level to deserve that rank?

There are lots of threads (with even more randomness than you'd see here) on juijitsugear's forums about Simco.
The meat of the message is that it seems while his ranks are all "legitimate" he basically got them by manipulating and buying them. Many of his students leave once they hit blue because he rarely rolls and when he does, he's about a purple level. -

Yeah, I found the link to the giant "Simco" thread and I have heard on here about students leaving. Not rolling with your students, it seems this is becoming somewhat of a semi-universal sign of something fishy going on. Actually, this has made me think of a few questions:

When he was ranked 2nd and then 3rd degree black belt, do you know if any of the higher belts awarding the rank and/or present as the ranking roll with Robson? How did he do against them?
*Edit*
Oh yeah, I really remember that one, had the message boards on fire!

Just a side note for you, I found this on the Simco super thread:

I guess this is how to truely verify someone's skill level. I wonder if this was done with Robson when he was promoted?
