Around 7 years for the CMA stuff. Been doing other things (see style field) on and off for a bit now.

Especially if you've not been consistent. I could potentially say that I trained MMA for two years, but that would be extremely misleading, as it was actually just 25hrs spread across 2003-2005.

So, while I could say I've trained in martial arts for 9 years, I prefer to break it down into hours. I geeked out fully after reading Ronin's aforementioned thread a few years ago and started noting everything, estimating the rest, ending up with this.

645hrs as of today, which is around a month by the Ronin measure.

I think a better measure would be pints of blood and sweat. But those are harder to measure than trying to remember how much you trained and how often and how long per day when measuring that was the last thing in my mind at the time.

This thread really got me thinking. Over the past 2.5 years I'd guess I've put in around 300 hours into sword work, and I considered that a decent amount... until I compared it to my "days played" in videogames.

So 10 hrs played at bjj
    26 hrs played at karate
    12.5 days played with swords
100 days played on my warcraft character.

**** I need to reprioritize my hobbies.
