    Gaining weight

    I have one hugeass problem:
I need to gain some damn weight, my weight (and thereby strength) is absolutely pathetic.

Recently I started counting Kj/Kcal, good thing, it gave me a wake-up call and I realized that I didn't really eat as much as I should before (even though I believed I did).

But my question is: Would whey protein help? I'm looking to gain a lot of weight, not neccesarily fast, but at the very least at a stable level so that I won't always swing back and forth.

Could anyone talk about their experience with protein powder? Can it damage other parts of the body? Is it even recommended? If yes, which brand etc.?

    Thanks in advance,
    Z

Just to clarify, you can gain strength without gaining weight. If strength the primary issue here, or do you want to gain weight just to be heavier?

Ross isn't heavy, but he'll punch your balls right off. I've seen him do it.

    Seriously.

Mix that protein powder with your milk. Never did me any harm.

    Try this*:

Get on a heavy weight training program. If you don't know how to lift, you need guidance, go to a gym and seek advice and help on form. 20 rep squats are awesome. You should work that in your program as well as deadlifts, bench, rows, lat pulldowns.

A diet idea to put on size is to eat 2g of protein per pound of body weight per day. Watch the fat intake. I hope you like tuna, it will be your stinky friend. Look at the whey protein powder to see where you can get the most. You can double up on the powder and it will make a descent shake.

See me back in 3 months. That will be 75 dollars american.

Pay at the door when you leave. (I take paypal Kthx0

[*Disclaimer: If any person does any of this ****, that individual does so at their own risk. Leave me out of your crazy ideas. What do I look like? A doctor over here? I ain't no doctor! You should see the advice of a physician before undergoing any exercise program.]

Well, I was avoiding the "GAIN MASS FOR STRENGTH" route, but if he does wanna do 20 rep squats, might as well link him to it.

You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

Adding protein alone won't help as much as total calories consumed. Eat 5-6 meals a day to lways keep your body fed (and have fuel available for growing muscles) and get into some heavy lifting. Free weights. Deadlift, squat, bench, military, weighted pullups..any big compound movement.

For starters I'm just looking to gain weight, with only some of it being strength, basically so that some more mass can be put into my strikes.

Yeah, I kind of realized that later on and then started counting Kj, it gives me a good overview of whether I've eaten enough or not every day instead of going to bed wondering whether one really did get enough calories the given day etc.
