Mmm. Lower back pain and left wrist.
2 strange things I've noticed. When I grease the groove, I do short circuits of 3 pullups, 15 pushups, 15 twisting situps, and 10 bulgraian split squats per leg, and I'll do it, I don't know, like, 10-25 times a day, based on how many things I ran into today that was over my head and I can pull myself up on it. This is never too overly strenuous, just a good full body sweat inducer, good for getting me back to sleep and just making sure my numbers don't slide. Nothing in my real program has changed. I'm still sledgehammering, tabata-ing, water ball carrying, sandbag slinging, rocks, logs, boulders, Judo and matwork. I also have started running 3 times a day, each for 12 minutes and 30 seconds, not paying attention to how far I jog. I jog on the track, to and from a park, and on a treadmill, so I can get a feel for any terrain and truly be ready for anything they throw at my for the Navy's physical test.
Well, after a good 10 grease the groove circuits or so in something like a 3 hours time frame, I'm noticing a pain in my left wrist when I grab onto the object I'm pulling myself up on, and hang there, and during the actual pullup. If I spread it out over like a whole day, this doesn't happen. I vary which type of pullups I do, like sometimes I'll do 4 chinups instead, or 3 alternate grip pullups, towel, or even neutral grip when I find a tree branch. What the **** is going on? I do tons more chinups during my actual workout, and I feel fine. ****!
Also, I've started waking up with lower back pain. My bed has a tag that says "Regal Splendor, Spinal Care Collection, for those who demand excellence", and it is composed of that mattress on top, another below, and 2 box springs below that(my room's kinda the storage room. It always has been), so I doubt it's my bed. When I wake up with the back pain, I have to literally do 10 minutes of foam and medicine ball rolling along with lower back dynamic and static stretching to work out the fucking kinks so it doesn't hurt my lower back when I breath. I've tried directly training it with superman tabata and it only makes it hurt worse, and I've tried laying off for about a week, and that doesn't help either. I don't have a dime to spare and I'm going into the Navy March 13th, do I'm not going to see some specialist before then, and I can't afford another week off.
I'm an expert at giving you the lowdown on what works without the scientific jargon, but I'm not about to tell you I passed(or took) anatomy and physiology, so I can't do rehab. I try to be as much like Dan John as possible. Anyone besides Alex have any suggestions?
Step one: Stop being batshit crazy.
besides me? how many other people on here are working towards/already hold a degree in sport and exercise science? although my advice would be to go see a physio anyway. doesnt your broke ass country have some kind of medical deal for sport injuries? i can walk into a physio clinic whenever i want and get free treatment.
anyway, 2 mattresses seems a bit OTT. last year i was sleeping on a quilt over a wooden board and my back felt great. if its hurting when you wake up its a good indicator theres something wrong with how youre sleeping.
as for your wrist, are you doing these pull ups cold? stressing your wrist over and over with no warmup isnt a **** hot idea, particularly if you have weak wrists to start with.
For the back, a firmer mattress is sometimes better. Try a different sleeping solution with proper support.
Do you sleep on your back or stomache?
See I didn't know that, I just assumed you were another asshole. Hey, Pavel created GTG almost specifically FOR boosting pullup numbers. I'll remove the bottom mattress and see how it turns out. I always sleep on my back, feet crossed, one hand over my head and on on my chest. I am actually unable to sleep any other way. I also wake up with stiff shoulders alot. No my broke ass country does not have **** for free medical, I'll have to wait for those benefits when I get in the Navy, and no, I'll never stop being bat **** crazy.

I'm not going to see a doctor 20 days before boot, when I have 16 dollars left in my bank account after getting out of debt. My creator was having a good day, since I just smoked my friend in a simple workout.
3 rounds 3 minutes each with 2 minute rest in between rounds. The exercises done: ring pushups, water ball rows, cleans, jerk presses and high pulls, sandbag swings, wide grip pullups, split jumps w/weight, and standing long jumps. The goal: 100 total reps a round. The rest period: Carrying a 40 pound sandbag overhead walking around the house for 2 minutes. Warmed up with clubbells. Oh, yeah, best believe I made goal. Preparation: To see movie 300, must feel like Spartan by date.
Edit: Oh, did I mention it's edging on 5 in the morning here? That's right.
