Do we know anything about his training at all? Yes he did police academy training but do we know if he did anything other than that? Anyways, it may be recognizably similar to some kung fu technique but may not be completely proper form. Same with anyones inherent concept of a punch. Someone with experience even with no training may be able to pull off some semblance of a proper punch though he may need training to really polish it up.

Uhh... really? By the time the cop is even doing something that remotely resembles this picture, he's already bent over and ready to tumble onto the guy. This just appears to be grasping at straws until someone shows that this is the actual application to a greater degree than "see you can kind of pick out the stance there sorta kinda for half a second in this clip!"

Hey it may be. I'm just pointing out a similarity. Again, I'm no expert in Pi Quan, I'm just saying what I see. I'll defer to when we get some actual confirmation on the application then.

Also, if that's the pi quan then I'd like to point out that the pi quan is part of 16th century german wrestling, wherin grabbing someone by the throat and tripping them is oft mentioned.
Funny how anal you are about what is and is not a jab but with stuff you are totally ignorant about you play it totally fast and loose. Prepare for a little e-pwnage because your examples represent pi quan the way a Wing Chunner chain punching twice represents a jab-cross combo. I mean, hey....it's just 2 punches to the face right? Go back to my summary of the 5 punches and notice that "grabbing the throat" has as much to do with what makes it a pi quan as punching with the lead hand has to do with defining a jab.

.....two of these pictures are not like the others......

......can you tell me which ones........before my so-ong it done?.....
    :toothy12:

In fact, the two that are NOT pi quan are actually pretty close to each other but that should come as no suprise since they both wrestling techniques even if one is just a performance. I'll admit they do have SOME piquan like aspects just as a WC lead arm punch has SOME aspects similar to a jab.
