Lingering Effects Of an Over Zealous RNC

Ok it's been damned near a week since Mongo the Mat Spazz decided rolling was a death match. The pain has gon but the persistant discomfort when swallowing has gotten worse. Now since my lovely trip to the ER for an unrelated issue wich wound up tweeking my throat in the process I have had an x-ray. The x-ray didn't find **** so of course ER doc insist that nothing is wrong. So I figured asking people who have actually deal with this **** is the next best option.

Problem: I have a dull knott like pain on the left side of my adams apple wich get mildly worse when I tun my head to the right. Eating, drinking nor breathing are an issue other than feeling funky. When I dry swallow my adams apple actually clicks and it hurts like a midget bitch, not quite a grown up bitch. I mean it isn't the kind of discomfort that warrents going back for an additional ER charge even if I got a doctor that was worth a ****. But it is definetly cause for concern, for me at least. And since it's the weekend and I aint see a Doc again till Monday at the earliest (not at all if it gets better). I'd thought I'd let you guys have a hash at it.

I had similar feelings in my throat after taking a punch directly on it. Due to a lack of health insurance, I just dealt with it and hoped it would go away. After about two/two and a half weeks it finally stopped bothering me. I'm not trying to tell you to not seek medical care if you deem it necessary, but this was my experience and how I dealt with it. Hope it helps.

I've gotten this from a sloppy noob lapel choke. It'll probably go away. If not, theres always amputation.

To answer serious questions...
1) neck hasn't been really stiff but the flu and head first dive into the tub kinda messes up my baseline comparison.
2)the muscle on the left side of my adams apple is kinda tense and I am clenching my jaw alot. But the jaw bit is probably from the rib (also from the tub dive).

To answer "are fuckin with me" questions
1) NO!!
2) NO!!
3) Anything close to my mouth is getting bitten off!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have great insurance and I never used it until I got married. Even then it wasn't much of an issue unless something was black-n-blue, pointing the wrong way or bleeding profusely. All three of wich seem to happen quite a bit now that I am training again.

Pain is tollerable. Wife bitching is tollerable. Pain with wife bitching isn't.

I had the same problem when a guy decided to apply maximum pressure while he tried to saw my head off with his forearm. My windpipe seemed to move to the side of my neck where it obviously should not be.

My throat hurt for close to two weeks. Its much better now. I'm not a doctor so if you feel something is wrong then you should go in. If they tell you that you're okay expect to feel pain for at least two weeks.

From the sound of it Hands is right, you should see a doctor, but he may tell you just to go easy and let it heal. If the clicking is annoying/lasts long enough, they can do surgery to clip off the offending cartilage.
