Let me see how my Google-Fu is:
Damn! There is a wholesale company who actually has a "Junior Master" patch.

...yea but, teaching something yeilds around 90% retention, which makes it a vastly more effective way of learning soemthing than basically any other method or group of methods combined. As long as you have somone who actually knows what they are doing keeping an eye on things, it's not a bad idea.
Besides which, I have a hard time getting excited about a strip of cloth. A real student has a desire to learn, which is wholly different from a desire to to be told by some guy that he or she is now allowed to wear black belts.
If that is all the person in question is after, give it to 'em. It won't stop the rest of us from learning as long as we take the time to do our research on who is and who is not qualified as a teacher, and that's something that people have had to do for a long, long time.

Remembered the catalog:
You are not just in the "Black Belt Club"--you are "Da Masta!"
and, of course, the entire "Lil Dragons" section of Century is a Temple of Suckitude:
They do not seem to have the "Junior Master" patch. I will have to search further.
The point of all of this is how the hell can anyone expect people to take this seriously?

The wonderful world of marketing in full bloom. If I had a dojo, they would get a birthday hazing like I had on Parris Island.
