Like them. Actually, just experiment and see what type of results you get. Besides, it makes no sense to do pull ups slowly unless you want to stress the negative IMO.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

    sounds good on the padwork/bagwork

do them like the crossfit guys, but also a big part of doing bodyweight stuff is to vary them:

like do both grips with pull-ups and sometimes hang a towel over the bar and do the pull-ups holding onto the towel.

with pushups, you should vary your hand position from wide, to normal, knuckles, and diamonds (hands together in the middle, index fingers and thumbs touching, the space in between the hands looks like a diamond shape)

crossfit is one of the best possible programs for getting into shape for fight sports, however, you need to be able to do all the exercises, which for the most part requires an olympic weight gym (and some other stuff, although if you have the olympic gym you can improvise.) i think at this point you should not spend too much time worrying about crossfit, but when you are out of high school and can afford it, an official crossfit gym just opened in manhattan, and you should go there.

Interesting that he'd use the passive tense for something as simple as hitting a tire with a hammer.

Is this like...post modern or something?

    EMO POWER!!!!

a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
    the sky darkens
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
the rain falls and a kitten weeps
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
the leaves fall under the uncaring clouds
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
there is nothing, there is everything
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
the blade cuts through my wrist
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front
the red life falls down into the mud, vibrancy dies
a hammer hitting a tire from back to front…

    Thank you

Why did you tell this man to jog for 30 minutes when he's training for combat specificity? I know I fight at between 60-80% perceived effort for a half an hour to several hours on end, but he doesn't have to.

BTW, I often fight wet paper bags and makiwara boards to prove my superiority over them. Moving on up!
