Wesley Snipes - Mainly for not using martial arts to create an acting career but actually being able to act instead.

In boxing - Lennox Lewis, Frazier and Smokin' Joe

    Res Judicata,

I'm not all that interested in judging the Five Percenters doctrines, past or present, in this context. My interest is more ethnographic rather then political, emotional or polemic. Whether you like the movement or not they've had an impact on MA training in a number of cities, including the one I live in, and have inspired numerous people to take up training. You don't have to like things to be able to discuss them.

For those who don't keep up on these sort of things who are trying to figure out what hubub is about

Thomas Hearns, Vernon Forrest (if only for his dedication and study of the craft). Hearns I think honestly is one of the best boxers ever, his jab and hand speed were incredible.

If I were to guess, I'd say he practiced and taught some hybrid MA based in large part on whatever combatives he learned in the army & Korea.

Tyson. Despite his many, many **** ups he was a beast in his prime. There are plenty of other black boxers that impressed me, but the skill and power he used to have still impresses me the most.

I though Bronze Tiger was a black martial artist wearing a costume in DC's Suicide Squad? At one time, he was Richard Dragon's "black friend." When did he become a weretiger furry wolvie knockoff?

I would say Snipes & Jim Kelly. Quote/Snipes BLADE 1: "Some motherfuckers always trying to ice skate up hill." Quote/Kelly Enter the Dragon: "Suddenly I think I want to leave your island Mr. hand man."
