Elwyn Hall in that clip is nasty. That's what shotokan is supposed to look like.

I'll look for one, but I saw it on an ESPN classic program about him ~ six years ago. I'm not even sure which fight they slowed down.
* Found it: Joe Louis V. Nathan Mann, 1938. Slo-mo starts at 7:53 (counting down), some good wallops about 6:57, and my favorite is at 6:01. And then Nathan gets consistently punished, but still gets up, until, of course, the last one.
Hope I did that right.

Slightly off topic as he interests me more the inspires me, but if anyone has any info on Clarence 13X's martial arts background I'd love to hear it. It's usually really vaguely mentioned exactly what it was he was trained in and teaching but it has definately left a mark in terms of Nations of Gods and Earths members and those influenced by the movement being involved in MA training in the NYC area.

Fitz - The Nation of Gods and Earths (aka the 5 percenters) are evil, racist, black supremacist hate group who consider the "black man" god and white people the devil. They're way, way worse than NOI. I could care less what their founder's (to them: Allah) martial arts background was and it's not appropriate for this thread. I'd just as soon discuss Hitler's MA background, if any.
This is a positive and well-behaved thread. Lets keep it that way.
